Grower Policy Statement

For Commercial Orders Only

In compliance with the NZPS (New Zealand Peony Society) Root Producers Registration Requirements, our policies are as follows:

Number of Buds per Division
To be counted by us, a bud has to be mature enough to grow during the first growing season. We sell  3 – 5 eye (bud) divisions. One and two eye divisions on request.

Quantity of Root
We supply sufficient root to give the plant a good start.

Nematode Infection
As nematodes are microscopic, all our roots are dipped in a nematicide as a precaution.

Virus Infection
Without inspection by electron microscope it is impossible to guarantee a plant is free of virus. All our nursery blocks are inspected rigorously and any plants with visible symptoms are destroyed.

Root Rots
Our roots are sold free of visible rotten material. As an added precaution we dip all roots in fungicide prior to shipping.

Storage
 After digging our roots are kept cool and damp.

Packaging
All roots are shipped in boxes of damp sawdust.

Wrongly Named Varieties
We guarantee our plants to be true to label and will replace any that are not and are returned to us.

Replacement Policy
As we only supply roots from plants growing vigorously on our property we have every confidence that we are supplying healthy roots. We have no control over growing conditions once we have sold the roots and therefore accept no liability for problems that may arise. In the interests of good relations though, we are prepared to consider complaints received during the first growing season following purchase and try and solve problems amicably.
